How do I earn voting power?
Voting power is earned through active participation in the governance process. You can earn voting power by: creating proposals and ADRs, participating in discussions and deliberations, completing reviews, voting on proposals, and contributing to working groups. Your voting power increases as you consistently engage with the community over time.
What's the difference between standard and quadratic voting?
Standard voting gives each participant one vote per proposal. Quadratic voting allows you to express the intensity of your preferences by allocating credits—the cost of additional votes increases quadratically (1 vote = 1 credit, 2 votes = 4 credits, 3 votes = 9 credits). This helps prevent large stakeholders from dominating votes while still allowing people to signal strong preferences.
How do I join a working group?
Visit the Working Groups page and browse available groups. Click "Join" on any group that interests you. Some groups are open and you can join immediately; others may require approval from group leads. Once you join, you'll have access to the group's discussions, meetings, and collaborative workspaces.
Can I submit a proposal as a new member?
Yes! All community members can submit proposals. We recommend new members start by participating in discussions and reviewing existing proposals to understand the community's priorities and standards. You can also use our template library to ensure your proposal follows the correct format.
What happens after a proposal passes?
After a proposal passes, it moves to the implementation phase. The relevant working group or designated implementers will begin executing the proposal. Progress is tracked on the roadmap, and the community receives regular updates. Once implemented, the changes become part of the official architecture and are documented in the knowledge base.
